June 29, June 30, July 1

It's time for classes to end but I've come across some (game) sites that are valuable in more ways than one.

First of all they contribute to student learning while being fun at the same time and they help others:
Free Rice - a vocabulary game that donates rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger
Aid to Children - another vocab game
Free Poverty - geography game. See how many cups of water you can donate by testing your knowledge about the world. Each correct answer means they will be donating 10 cups on your behalf.
Free Corn - the more you visit, the more you give . . .
Free Kibble - helps to support animal shelters
Free Kibble Kat - helps feed hungry cats

Wow! There's lots to choose from.

Have a great summer and see you in September!June

Year 7 - we have started the countdown until summer holidays.

But before we go let's have a look at a website full of Web 2.0 tools that could be valuable to you: http://bighugelabs.com/. There are lots of tools/toys her to explore.

Today, I would like you to create either a magazine cover (http://bighugelabs.com/magazine.php) or movie poster (http://bighugelabs.com/poster.php). It's fun and easy to do.

Now, answer this question: How could you transfer this knowledge and use it for your own educational purposes?????

Year 7 - Time's up!
EVALUATE - Criterion E Maximum 6

Students are expected to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification in an objective manner based on testing. They are expected to explain how the product/solution could be improved as a result of these evaluations.

Students are expected to evaluate their own performance at each stage of the design cycle and to suggest ways in which their performance could be improved.
To get a 6 the student: evaluates the product/solution and his or her own performance and suggests ways in which these could be improved. The student tests at least part of the product/solution and evaluates it against the design specification.
Today's tasks:
1 - show your final product/solution (the recipe flyer) to 5 other people.
2- have the 5 other people evaluate your flyer using the questions you made in the Investigation.
3-Write a paragraph analyzing the feedback from your mates. and suggest ways to improve.
4 - Write a paragraph evaluating your own performance and suggest ways to improve.

7 - BAG - You are such great kids to give up some of your lunch time to come to IT. This is such a fun project - it will be great to finish it!
So today, let's begin the CREATE (let's look at the previous posting to see what you need to do to get a 6).
Now, let's go!
Today, you will have 2 (easy) tasks
1. Use your plan to create your recipe flyer,
2. Create your recipe flyer,
and 1 task for homework:
3. Write a paragraph saying if your plan worked (exactly) or not. Include any changes you made to your original design. Remember to give details and explain everything;-)
